A tense situation unfolded at the Rustenburg Civic Center yesterday 18 April during the blousing ceremony in honor of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela when taxi drivers reportedly held an ANCWL rally hostage due to unpaid services, resulting in a deadlock.
Tragically, a member of the ANCWL passed away during the incident reportedly due to hunger and dehydration prompting emergency services to respond to the scene at the Rustenburg Civic Center.
It is reported that Cde Sello Lehare and taxi owners arrived at the Civic Center late last night to address and resolve the situation.
